I am challenging myself and particpating in Triathlon Pink Melbourne on 26th January 2014. Since the first Traithlon Pink event in 2006, over $1 million has been raised for the fight against Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer scares the bejesus out of me. Mum's had it, her Mum's had it and her Mum's mum has had it. It scares me that my kids might some day have to see me go through it, grow up without me, or battle it themselves. The National Breast Cancer Foundation's goal is to have ZERO deaths from breast Cancer by 2030. That is when my girls will be young adults and I'd love to not have to worry about them getting the disease!

I also have another great reason for wanting to complete Triathlon Pink and fundraise for the NBCF. On Christmas Eve 2012, a beautiful family lost their Mum and wife after she battled the disease for only 8 months. Four young children are growing up without their mother due to this horrible disease. Two of those kids are the same age as mine and their Mum was only 2 years older than me. It's just not fair! No child should have to grow up without their Mum and by donating you will hopefully help lessen the chance of that happening because of Breast Cancer.
